Stack the field labels above their values on the entry card instead of a two-column layout.
Labels in a fixed left column, values on the right, spec-sheet style.
Cards read top to bottom like a story (Decision, Instead of, Expect), and narrow viewports work without a special layout.
28 July 2026
Added author to every entry, set automatically at creation, displayed as the Author row on the card. Never shown at capture. Retro-attributing authorship later is impossible, so the field exists from day one.
Adding author when collaborators ship
Nothing changes visibly for solo use; the field pays off the day a project gains a second member.
26 July 2026
Require an “Are you sure?” modal before removing a decision, with a short note that removal is permanent.
Deleting immediately on menu click.
Fewer accidental removes when using the kebab menu.
Allow editing decisions after create, including the date. Quick-add stays auto-timestamped; backfill happens by editing the date afterward.
Choosing a date at create time, or keeping timestamps locked forever.
Can retro-log old projects without slowing the everyday compose flow.
To implement a new project page with privacy settings that support both public and private visibility, defaulting to Private.
An alternative consideration was not implementing any privacy settings, leaving all project pages public.
It’s all about giving you more control over who sees your projects while making the experience smoother and easier. We really care about privacy, so we’ve set everything to private by default. But of course, you can make your projects public if you want to share your progress.
23 July 2026
I decided to give the input field focus when logging decisions, instead of keeping the project drop‑down active. When making multiple decisions, you need to start typing the decision right away. Focusing the input field streamlines the process, making the first step to state the decision clearly rather than getting sidetracked by project selections.
Logging speeds up, I start typing as soon as the modal opens.
Cut the idea type before launch instead of shipping two entry types, because schema should be driven by usage data, not speculation.
No painful 'nowhere to put this' moments during the first four weeks of dogfooding. If I hit one, that's the re-entry signal.
19 July 2026
Removed guest checkout.
Keeping the guest checkout.
Fewer support ticekts.
30 March 2026
I decided to make a test.
Skipping the test and shipping without a smoke check.
The compose and feed paths still work after the change.
24 March 2026
Replace all one-off icon SVGs with a single Lucide icon set across web and mobile. We audited 94 unique icons: 61 have direct Lucide equivalents, 22 need minor tweaks, and 11 will be contributed upstream.
Keeping one-off SVGs and reviewing icons per feature.
Save roughly 120 KB from the production bundle, eliminate the per-icon design review step that currently adds two days to every feature branch, and give mobile parity so both platforms ship identical iconography
Ship a three-sentence onboarding tooltip sequence instead of the full-screen walkthrough modal. The current modal has a 68 percent dismiss rate before users reach step two. The new tooltips anchor directly to the UI elements they describe and auto-advance after interaction.
Keeping the full-screen walkthrough modal.
Increase activation rate from 34 percent to at least 50 percent within 30 days of launch, measured by users who complete their first project within the first session
Move the entire billing flow from Stripe Checkout to a custom in-app payment form so we control every step of the funnel. This means building card input, plan selection, and confirmation screens from scratch. We will retire the hosted Checkout page by end of Q2.
Keeping Stripe Checkout as the hosted payment flow.
Reduce checkout abandonment by at least 15 percent because users stay in-app, cut Stripe redirect latency from 3 seconds to under 500 milliseconds, and allow us to run A/B tests on pricing page layout without being limited by Checkout session constraints
We decided to rename users to members in the nav.
Keeping "users" as the nav label.
Fewer support questions about permissions.
4 November 2025
Prioritize trend charts over raw metric tables on the quants dashboard for the first release.
Leading with raw metric tables on first load.
Analysts spot changes faster in pilot sessions, with detailed tables available on drill-down.
19 August 2025
Guide migrations as a staged checklist with explicit confirmation between steps instead of a single bulk import flow.
A single bulk import flow with no intermediate confirms.
Fewer failed migrations in support logs and higher completion rate for first-time importers.

Keeping the three-column pricing grid on desktop.
Easier plan differentiation in moderated tests and fewer "which plan?" support questions.
15 November 2024
Limit the Wayflyer promo banner to one dismissal per user session instead of a permanent dismiss.
Allowing a permanent dismiss on the promo banner.
Promo visibility stays high for returning visitors without training users to ignore permanent banners.
29 October 2024
Reduce top-level navigation to four items and move secondary links into a "More" menu on desktop.
Keeping every secondary link in the top-level nav.
Cleaner homepage first impression and fewer mis-clicks in navigation tests.
11 October 2024
Show remaining free-plan usage as a simple progress bar in the account header rather than a dedicated usage page.
A dedicated usage page linked from account settings.
More free users notice limits before hitting them, with no increase in upgrade-page bounce.
26 September 2024
Truncate author bios at three lines with an expand control instead of routing to a separate bio page.
Routing to a separate full bio page.
Author pages stay scannable while still allowing full bios for interested readers.
5 September 2024
Show a live countdown to conference pricing deadline only when fewer than 14 days remain.
Showing the countdown permanently on the sales page.
Urgency lifts late registrations without making the page feel permanently alarmist.
14 August 2024
Default new share links to view-only permissions, with edit access as an explicit opt-in step.
Defaulting new share links to edit access.
Fewer accidental edits from external collaborators and less permission-related support load.

Placing the primary CTA below the comparison table.

Default the pricing toggle to annual billing on the premium sales page, with monthly as the secondary option.
Defaulting the toggle to monthly billing.
Increase annual plan selection share without a measurable drop in overall conversion.
7 June 2024
Surface audit suggestions inline beneath the affected UI element rather than in a separate review panel.
Collecting suggestions in a separate review panel.
Higher suggestion acceptance rate because context stays visible while reviewing fixes.
21 May 2024
Add a neutral "Not research-based" label on recommendations that lack supporting studies, linked to a short explainer modal.
Leaving unsupported recommendations unmarked.
Clearer trust signals without discouraging exploration of heuristic suggestions.

Use a compact list layout for search results on desktop instead of a card grid, with the thumbnail on the left and metadata stacked on the right.

Higher scan rate in eye-tracking sessions and less vertical scroll on typical result sets.
18 April 2024
Ship the first plugin version with read-only sync from Figma variables to the design token file, and defer two-way editing to a later release.
Shipping two-way editing in the first plugin version.
Designers can adopt the plugin without fear of accidental overwrites, and we can validate the sync pipeline before adding write access.
12 March 2024
Consolidate billing, team, and security settings into a single account page with left-side section nav instead of separate top-level routes.
Separate top-level routes for billing, team, and security.
Fewer support tickets about where to change payment details, and faster task completion in usability tests.
